Visit the falconer where you can see the beautiful birds of prey up close. Did you know that the falconry in the Middle Ages was a hobby for nobel men? It was during a falcon hunt that Floris V, the count who built Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot, was kidnapped.
The falconer is present at the following times in 2020
From 1 April to 31 October from 11 to 14 hours:
- every weekend
- all public holidays (on the 1st of June 13 to 16 hrs)
- During school holidays on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Extra: 25 and 26 December 2020.
The falconer gives two flight demonstrations a day with the birds of prey (only if the weather conditions are good). A demonstration lasts about 30 minutes and takes place on the tournament field or on the castle square. At temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius the birds will not be present.
