Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot became a national museum in 1878. Since then, the museum has built up a large collection, with each part of the collection illustrating an aspect of the castle’s history. Some are prominently displayed, while others lead a more hidden existence but nevertheless form part of the castle’s institutional memory.
