Getting there

Muiderslot Castle is located in a unique setting, surrounded by water and greenery. Whether you’re coming by bike, public transportation, or car, you can easily find your way to the castle. Plan your route in advance.

I will come by bike

There’s a beautiful bike route from Amsterdam to Muiderslot Castle. You’ll cycle past water and green spaces, with the castle as your final destination. There’s also a bike route through the Vecht region that passes by Muiderslot Castle. Plan your bike route here.

I will come by public transportation

By public transportation

Take the train to Weesp Station. From there, take bus 110 to the Muiden Centrum stop. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Muiderslot Castle. You can also rent a public transit bike at Weesp Station.

You can also take the bus to the Muiden P+R. From there, you can transfer to bus 110 to Muiden Centrum or walk to Muiderslot in about 30 minutes.

MuiderslotExpress (April 24 through October 16, 2026) On weekends, shuttle bus 510 runs between P+R Muiden and Vestingplein, a short walk from Muiderslot Castle. The ride takes about 10 minutes. A one-way ticket costs €1; children 11 and under ride for free.

From the A1, take Exit 3 toward Muiden/Weesp.

Parking in the center of Muiden
 A limited number of parking spaces are available in the center of Muiden. Parking is always paid here, even on Sundays and public holidays.

  • First 2 hours: €2.00 per hour
  • Starting with the 3rd hour: €6.20 per hour
  • Paid parking from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Free parking
We recommend that visitors park outside the city center:

  • P2 (Mariahoeveweg): free parking, about a 10-minute walk to Muiderslot Castle.
  • P1 (Maxisweg/Weesperweg): free parking, about a 15-minute walk to Muiderslot Castle.
  • P+R Muiden (Papelaan): free parking, about a 30-minute walk to Muiderslot Castle.
  • Visitors with a disability parking permit can park for free at the entrance to Muiderslot.

MuiderslotExpress (April 24 through October 16, 2026)
On weekends, the MuiderslotExpress (Line 510) runs between P+R Muiden and Vestingplein, a short walk from Muiderslot Castle.

  • Travel time: about 10 minutes
  • Fare: €1 per one-way trip
  • Children 11 and under travel for free.
